Easy Summer Market Granita

A light, raw, delicious and low calorie summer treat!  Experiment with different fruits!

Granita
Instructions:

1 pound of fresh berries

1/2 cup raw honey, agave or maple syrup

1/2 cup fresh orange juice

2 Tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice

2 Tablespoons raw coconut oil (optional — will give the recipe more of a sorbet texture)

1.  Pour fruit into blender container and blend until smooth–then pour through a sieve to strain (discard any pulp) if you wish to have a finer granita or sorbet-like consistency. Stir in citrus juices. Taste for sweetness, adding extra honey or syrup as needed for tart fruit.
2. Pour into 9-inch square, non-corrosive metal or glass baking pan. Cover and freeze.

3.  Return to blender and pulse briefly to create a thick slush, taking care not to over-blend.

4. Spoon into individual dishes and serve immediately.
